Iconsiam's dining areas
According to the mall's website, dining is spread over several spaces:
- SookSiam (ground floor): the reconstructed floating market, with food stalls from the country's regions (North, Isan, Central, South) around an indoor canal. It is the best place to taste regional dishes without ordering a full meal: you walk around, look and choose. See the Iconsiam page.
- ICON Eats (4th floor): street dishes and the city's restaurants gathered on one level.
- ICON Dining Rooms (5th floor): more traditional restaurants, suited to family meals, some with river views.
- Cafés and waterside terraces: for a drink overlooking the Chao Phraya, especially in the late afternoon.
Outlets change: choose on site from the menus on display, which show prices.
What to eat at SookSiam
- Northern dishes: khao soi noodle curry or Northern sausage.
- Isan dishes: grilled chicken, papaya salad (som tam), larb.
- Central and Southern dishes: curries and grilled fish.
- Desserts: mango sticky rice in season; see our guide to Thai desserts.
Say "mai phet" for a mild dish. The stalls are a guide; check the price before ordering.
Eating around Iconsiam
The mall is surrounded by major roads, and across the river lies Bang Rak. Two ideas:
- Head to Charoen Krung: by boat then on foot, the Charoen Krung and Bang Rak area has cafés and street restaurants.
- The lanes of Thonburi: our Thonburi guide covers the west-bank markets, which are more local.
For real street food, see our guide to street food in Bangkok.
Getting there
- Gold Line: Charoen Nakhon station, connected directly to the mall; change from the BTS at Krung Thon Buri. The ticket costs 17 baht (January 2026 fare).
- River shuttle: from Sathorn pier, at the foot of Saphan Taksin BTS station. Buy the ticket at the pier counter.
- Taxi or Grab: allow extra time at rush hour, as road access is busy.
Traps and tips
- At weekends at mealtimes, SookSiam is very busy: come before 12 or after 2 pm.
- Tables with a view may need a booking in the evening; check with each restaurant.
- Restaurant menus may add service and tax to the bill: read the lines at the bottom of the menu.
- After the meal, the fountain show is free, at 7, 8 and 9 pm according to the mall's website.
- On a tight budget, compare with the food courts of Bangkok; the Bangkok budget guide gives benchmarks.
