Safari World is a large two-part animal park, about 40-45 km north-east of central Bangkok in Khlong Sam Wa district: the Safari Park, where you drive or ride a bus through enclosures of giraffes, lions, tigers and zebras, and the Marine Park, a walking park with animal shows (dolphins, sea lions, orangutans, elephants). It is a very popular day out for Thai families and travellers with children. It takes some organising (a 45 to 75-minute taxi ride) and is worth choosing with open eyes: several animal-protection organisations criticise shows with wild animals. Information noted in October 2026.
Highlights

The Marine Park and its shows
The Marine Park runs about seven shows a day. According to a travel guide consulted in October 2026, the dolphin show is at 10am and 2:10pm, the sea lion show at 10:40am and 2:15pm, the orangutan "boxing" at 10:40am and 3:30pm and the elephant show at 11:15am and 3:30pm; the programme varies from day to day, notably at weekends, and should be confirmed at the entrance. The dolphin, orangutan and elephant shows are the ones animal-welfare organisations criticise most: it is up to you to decide whether you want them in your day.

The lake of pelicans and birds
Safari World also has a large bird park with a lake, home to pelicans and other water birds, and a walking trail (the Jungle Walk) included in the combined ticket. It is the calmest part to enjoy with young children.
The Safari Park by car
You cross the park by car or by bus: herbivores on one side (giraffes, zebras), big cats on the other, in separate zones. Keep the windows closed. A supplement of about 200 baht gives access to the Giraffe Terrace, where you feed the giraffes.
Parking and shuttle
According to resellers, the combined ticket includes free parking and a shuttle inside the park.

Tips
Tickets are best bought in advance from online resellers, often cheaper than at the ticket office. According to the resellers consulted in October 2026, the Safari Park alone or the Marine Park alone cost 400 to 500 baht, the combined ticket for both parks 750 to 800 baht, and the package with a buffet lunch about 1,128 baht; children under 100 cm enter free. The official site does not show prices on its home page: check the price when you book. Allow 6 to 8 hours for both parks and the shows, and arrive at opening time: the park fills up after 10:30am. Bring a hat, sunscreen and water: the enclosures are in full sun, and April is the hottest month. For more ideas with children, see Bangkok with children and the SEA LIFE Bangkok aquarium, easier to reach from the centre. To avoid animal shows, Lumphini Park and its free-roaming monitor lizards make a free nature outing.
How to get there
99 Panya Indra Road, Khlong Sam Wa, Bangkok 10510. The simplest is a taxi or Grab from the centre: 45 to 75 minutes depending on traffic, allow 250 to 400 baht on the meter. Organised trips with hotel transfer are sold by online agencies.
