Dib Bangkok Museum: contemporary art in a former warehouse

Updated on October 15, 2026

Dib Bangkok is a contemporary art museum with more than 7,000 m² of exhibition space, housed in a converted 1980s warehouse between Rama IV Road and Sukhumvit Soi 40 in Khlong Toei. The architecture is by Kulapat Yantrasast (WHY Architecture) with Architects 49. The collection holds more than 1,000 works by over 200 artists. It is one of the few museums in Bangkok built for international art, and a visit takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours. For the city's other art venues, see our Bangkok museums and our contemporary art galleries.

Highlights

The building and its reflecting pool

The building and its reflecting pool

The pale façade stretches above a large mirror of water and lets the light filter out in the evening. The old warehouse has kept its industrial character; the interior was entirely redesigned to hold large-scale works.

The opening exhibition "(In)visible Presence"

It brought together 81 works over three floors around sound, scent, light and everyday materials, and ran until 3 August 2026. Exhibitions change: check the museum's programme before you come.

The collection

More than 1,000 works by over 200 artists make up the museum's holdings; only part of them is shown at any one time.

  • Admission is 700 baht for foreign visitors and 550 baht for Thai citizens (prices seen in October 2026). That is expensive for Bangkok: allow for it in your budget and compare with our free museums. The works on view depend on the current exhibition: check what is on before you come. For a meal afterwards, see eating in Sukhumvit and the Sukhumvit district.
