MBK Center Bangkok: what to buy, what to avoid, where to eat (2026)
MBK Center (Mah Boon Krong) is Siam's big budget shopping mall: eight floors and more than 2,000 shops, open daily 10am to 10pm, free to enter. People come for phones and accessories, cheap clothes, souvenirs and the 6th-floor food court, with prices that can be negotiated at most stalls. Allow 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Going in the late afternoon avoids the weekend crowds; for fixed-price shops and brand-name fashion, the neighbouring malls (Siam Paragon, Siam Center) are a better fit.
Highlights

Electronics, phones and accessories
The upper floors (the 4th according to most guides) are lined with stalls for cases, cables, batteries, cameras and small gadgets. Compare three stalls before buying and test the item: displayed prices are starting points for haggling, and warranties at small stalls are close to non-existent.
Clothes, souvenirs and crafts
The middle floors and the top of the mall group T-shirts, bags, glasses, fabrics and souvenirs, often cheaper than at Chatuchak or the night markets for the same items. Bargain with a smile: 10 to 30% off is common when you buy two or more items.
Food Island food court (6th floor)
Rice dishes, pad thai, som tam and desserts for about 50 to 80 THB, using a prepaid card loaded at the entrance, with the balance refunded when you leave. A good cheap lunch a step from the BTS station; see also our guide to food courts in Bangkok.
Counterfeits
Fake branded goods are sold at some stalls: selling them is illegal in Thailand and customs in your home country may seize them. If you want brand-name fashion, buy it in a proper shop.

Tips
- Keep your bag in front of you and your phone in your pocket in the crowd. Compare before buying and ask for the final price before anything is wrapped. There are plenty of ATMs and exchange booths in the mall, but compare their rates with your bank's (see money and payment in Bangkok). Some guides mention a left-luggage room on one of the top floors: ask at the information desk. For a calmer air-conditioned shopping trip, read our guide to shopping in Siam; for a bigger market, see Chatuchak Market.
How to get there
444 Phayathai Road, Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330. BTS National Stadium station (Silom line), with direct access by covered walkway; about 5 minutes on foot from Siam along the skywalk. The BACC is opposite, and the Jim Thompson House is a few minutes away. See also getting around Bangkok.
