Museum of Counterfeit Goods in Bangkok: opening times, booking and free visit

Updated on October 16, 2026

The Museum of Counterfeit Goods is a small free museum on the 26th floor of Supalai Grand Tower, inside the offices of the intellectual property law firm Tilleke & Gibbins, in Sathorn. It shows more than 4,000 counterfeit or imitation items, sorted into 14 sections: clothing, eyewear, food, medicines, electrical parts, car parts. Genuine products are displayed next to the copies so you can learn to tell them apart. The visit is guided by a lawyer from the firm. It requires advance booking (see "Astuces"). It is a good free complement to a day in Silom and Sathorn, or an option for a rainy day.

Highlights

The museum entrance

The museum entrance

A mosaic wall of labels and logos greets visitors: the collection is presented like a catalogue of copied brands.

The pairs to compare

Real and fake, side by side: bags, watches, glasses, clothes. The guide points out the details that give a copy away (stitching, finishing, packaging).

Dangerous fakes

Medicines, cosmetics, food, electrical or car parts: the visit explains why a copy can be a health and safety risk, not just a trademark matter.

The shopping lesson

It also helps you understand what you are buying in the city's markets.

Tips

  • Entry is free, but visits are by reservation only, except at fixed times: according to information found in October 2026, Monday at 2 pm and Thursday at 10 am for the open visit, and otherwise on request in advance (24 hours according to some sources, five working days according to the firm's page: allow plenty of time). Book by email at the address shown on the Tilleke & Gibbins website or by phone at +66 2 056 5548, and confirm the day and time before you go. The museum is inside offices: plan to go through the tower's reception and dress neatly. For other free museums, read our guide to free museums in Bangkok; for all the city's museums, Bangkok museums; for the area, Silom and Sathorn.
