The options, from cheapest to most convenient
- Hotel (before or after your stay): most hotels keep suitcases after check-out. Ask reception whether it is free or paid. This is the simplest option if you leave from the same area.
- Suvarnabhumi Airport: official counters open 24 hours, on level 2 (arrivals, near the tourist police) and level 4 (departures, behind check-in row P). Passport and claim ticket are required at pick-up. Price not confirmed: check at the counter.
- Don Mueang Airport: sources contradict each other (one says there is an official 24-hour service between terminals 1 and 2; the other says there is none). Check before relying on it.
- Hua Lamphong station: a left-luggage office near the main entrance, open daily (the hours quoted run from 04:00 or 07:00 to 23:00), for about 20 to 100 baht per bag per day depending on size. See Hua Lamphong station. Long-distance trains mostly leave from Krung Thep Aphiwat station: ask on the spot.
- Private storage: shops, cafés and partner hotels booked online, around 100 to 160 baht per bag per day (booking sites, October 2026). Handy near the Grand Palace, Siam or Sukhumvit.
Layover or late check-out: how to organise
- Layover of 6 hours or more: leave the bags at the airport, then reach the city by the Airport Rail Link (about 30 minutes to Phaya Thai). Plan to be back at least 3 hours before the flight. A visa may be needed to leave the airport: see visa and entry to Thailand.
- Check-out in the morning, flight in the evening: hotel storage, then a walking visit. A guided visit of the Grand Palace and Wat Pho takes half a day.
- Very early flight: sleeping near the airport is simpler, see hotels near Bangkok airports.
Tips
- Do not leave your passport, cash or medicines in stored luggage; lock the suitcase with a padlock.
- Bags that are too big or too heavy can cost more: the rate depends on size.
- Keep the claim ticket and take a photo of the bag.
- To get to the airport afterwards, see Suvarnabhumi to the centre and Don Mueang to the centre.
