Visa for Vietnam

Rules depend on your passport and change, so check the official Vietnamese e-visa portal (evisa.gov.vn) before you book. Sources read on 30 October 2026 report that Thai citizens can enter for up to 30 days without a visa, that several European nationalities (for example France, Germany, Spain and the UK) and Japan have a 45-day exemption, and that the e-visa is valid up to 90 days and usually costs 25 USD. Where to sleep in Hanoi

  • Allow time for immigration at Noi Bai; the airport is about 30 km from the Old Quarter.
