On arrival
Keep all originals with you, with a copy of your passport. A healthy pet is not normally quarantined, but the officer can decide to hold it. If the animal travels without you, an import permit is needed before departure; allow at least three working days. To reach the centre, see Suvarnabhumi Airport to the centre.
Hotels that accept pets
These rates come from listings and articles read on 30 October 2026 and may have changed.
- INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit: one dog per room for 1,200 baht a night according to a 2024 article. Limit: one dog only in a standard room.
- Oakwood Studios Sukhumvit: dogs and cats in designated rooms, 500 baht per pet per night according to a listing. Limit: exotic pets refused.
- Sora Resort & Suites Sukhumvit: 500 baht per pet per night according to a listing, two pets at most. Limit: only some rooms accept pets.

Heat is the main risk: read Bangkok too hot, what to do and avoid walks in the hottest hours. We found no published rule on pets in the metro or BTS; ask the operator, and ask the driver before getting into a Grab.

Do I need a permit to take my dog to Thailand?
An import permit is required when the animal travels without you; if it travels with you, Form Ror. 1/1 can be done on arrival according to the embassy. Confirm with the Department.
Which vaccines?
