The options at a glance
| Option | Advantage | Drawback |
|---|---|---|
| On-site hotel (Novotel Bangkok Impact) | Walk to the halls | Full and pricier during big fairs |
| Muang Thong Thani hotels | Short taxi ride | Few restaurants in the evening |
| Hotel near the metro | More choice, nightlife | Long ride, rush-hour traffic |
| Hotel in the centre (Sukhumvit, Silom) | Restaurants, offices | Allow a big margin |
Getting there from the centre
The MRT Pink Line serves the IMPACT area (Impact Challenger station); check the metro's website for current service and the interchange. A taxi or Grab is more direct, but the time varies a lot with traffic: allow at least an hour from Sukhumvit. See getting around Bangkok and Grab or taxi in Bangkok.
Choosing during a fair or concert
Book as soon as the dates are published: nearby rooms fill up. Ask the hotel whether it runs a shuttle on event days. If you come for a fair at the Queen Sirikit convention centre, see hotels near QSNCC instead. Compare hotels near IMPACT Muang Thong Thani on Booking.com.
Three hotels to compare
- Novotel Bangkok Impact: a few minutes' walk from the site, with an indoor pool according to listings. Limit: it fills quickly on fair and concert days.
- ibis Bangkok Impact: economy category, very close to the site according to listings. Limit: fewer facilities than a higher-category chain hotel.
- 12 The Residence Hotel: described as reasonably priced, with parking according to listings. Limit: it is not on the grounds, so check the distance and the taxi ride.
